SINKS
DIFFERENT KINDS OF KITCHEN SINKS
INSET OR ‘SIT ON’ SINKS
These sinks are placed on top of the worktop inside a cut-out hole. These sinks also mean that drainer grooves and tap holes do not need to be cut from the worktop. Unlike laminated, quartz or granite worktops will avoid any water seeping in.
UNDERMOUNT SINKS
This is the most popular choice for a modern kitchen when installing a stone worktop. The sink fits flush under the worktop in an accurately cut hole. The edges are visible and therefore are polished and rounded to give a nice smooth shape which looks neat and sleek. The only appliance om top of the surface will be the tap, filter or push button.
BELFAST/BUTLER STYLE SINKS
These sinks are similar to the undermounted sink as it sits under the worktop however the front of the basin is exposed. These sinks are made from ceramic and add a traditional touch to a modern kitchen. They also have depth and plenty of space.
